eepos one at Lürssen
Lürssen relies on a crane system with a curved trackEvery yacht from the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen is unique, impressing with its design, equipment, and performance. The highly skilled workers are trained at the Lemwerder location, which plays a key role in maintaining the strong reputation of the Lürssen shipyard. Since Lürssen had already installed several eepos cranes, training manager Dietmar Strauß decided to also use an eepos crane in the training workshop. The special feature of this system is its 90° curved path between the workshop and the gate entrance.
As a globally recognized shipbuilder, Lürssen Werft considers a high standard of training essential. Therefore, it was clear that the training workshop should also meet the highest quality standards. This required a conversion to accommodate the special requirements of Ergonomics, workplace geometry and material flows: Since Lürssen had already gained valuable experience with eepos crane systems at several locations, it quickly became clear that the new training workshop would also benefit from an aluminum crane runway.

Speed and quality
The completion and acceptance took place as planned, ensuring that the entire training workshop was finished by the start of the new training year. “We thoroughly checked the components before assembly and were impressed by their quality. Then, the fitters from eepos arrived and set up the crane runway, and it fit perfectly.”
Curved track sets new standards
For Mr. Strauss, the eepos crane system has now become the standard in the training workshop: “We use the crane to transport steel and aluminum plates, as well as to move our assembly tables and presses. Everyone who operates the crane is surprised by how easily it moves, even when there is a load hanging on it. As we walk the crane from the training workshop around the curve to the front of the roller shutter, everyone is initially cautious but then amazed at how precisely the crane fits past the supports and pillars. With the eepos crane, we have now incorporated crane training, including load slinging, into our program.”
Extremely smooth operation of the crane track
Christian Schneider is a construction mechanic in his first year of training and has successfully completed crane training: The eepos crane runs incredibly smoothly on the crane rails. Interestingly, the weights on the crane are often greatly underestimated. Sometimes I think I’m lifting 100 kg, but in reality it’s 180 or 200 kg. This is probably due to the very smooth operation."
Impressive precision, modularity, and aesthetics
In addition to the sleek appearance of the aluminum profiles of the crane runway and Crane Girder , for Mr. Strauß, the eepos crane with the curved crane track is a perfect fit for Lürssen: “The eepos crane has everything we want to offer our trainees. The functionality is spot on, the quality is top-notch, and the precision and modularity are equally impressive. Aesthetically, the eepos crane suits us as well. Ultimately, the attitude toward work must be right: we can't just be satisfied; we aim to constantly challenge ourselves. We want to keep developing and always do a little more.” We couldn't agree more.
